Cadets from 1220 (March) Squadron Air Training Corps joined other cadets from Cambridgeshire  to help at the famous Flying Legends WW2 flying weekend recently  The cadets travelled to Duxford on each of the two days of the show.

On the Saturday Corporals Tom Ward and Michael Twiddy were joined Cadet Brett Ray then on the Sunday Corporal Lauren Arnold took over from Brett.

It was an early start with an initial briefing and then duties allocated for each day. The cadets helped the society by lining up in front of the aircraft due to fly later in the show during the flight line walk.  Their main role was to ensure that members of the public didn’t get too close to the aircraft.

On the Sunday morning two of the March cadets, Corporals Michael Twiddy and Lauren Arnold, were fortunate enough to be invited to sit in one of the Mk9 Spitfires.

After lunch the cadets were free to enjoy the airshow. They particularly enjoyed the show put on the eight Spitfires as they took off in formation and then performed a quite impressive display being joined by two Hurricanes and a German ME109

On the Sunday evening cadets helped dismantle a full size replica Hurricane.
