MODEL CADETS AT MARCH!Cadets from 1220 (March) Squadron had one of their most successful weekends and medal hauls when they entered the aero modelling competition held at RAF Wyton. The cadets, competing against 28 other squadrons in the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing, had entered models in five of the categories. Cadet Sergeant Luke Goodall and Corporal Tim Kightly won gold in the Aircraft Diorama with a scene depicting a WW2 glider and tug.
The trio of Cadet Sergeant Luke Goodall, Corporal Tom Ward and Cadet Natasha Mowatt teamed up to take gold in the Open Diorama with a model of a German railway gun and outpost. Luke also gained gold for his 1:48 scale English Electric Canberra and silver for his 1:72 scale Messerschmitt Gigant. The Canberra will now go on to represent the Wing against the five other wings of the Region. Cadet Scott Goodall built a 1:72 scale Hawker Hurricane from scratch, and won the Scratch Built class for aircraft made without the help of kit. Cadets from 1220 have won this class four years running and it topped off a very worthwhile year.
